1.0 Ethical Policy

Pics-4-news is operating at the cutting edge of a new and exciting phenomenon called 'Citizen's Photo Journalism'

Because it is so new it is raising numerous ethical questions which have not yet been fully debated,explored or agreed.Some of the positive and negative aspects of Citizen's photojournalism(CPJ).are summerised below:-

1.1 Positively.

*CPJ brings additional news to the public,which has previously been inaccessible.
*informs people...A picture definately paints a thousand words.
*It is of immense interest as it is immediately accessible and available to all.
*Gives everyone the opportunity to be paid a just reward for their newsworthy photographs.

1.2 Negatively.

If however through CPJ. inappropriate images were to be taken,circulated or used,then they could be construde as being one or more of the following:-
*Illegal
*Offensive.
*Invasive.

2.0 Aims

At pics-4-news we aim to be honest and professional in our work and set high ethical standards in our selection and use of images.
In this way we aim to maximise the positive aspects of our work by informing,and making interesting images available to everyone,whilst minimising the risk of illegal,offensive or intrusive images reaching the worlds press.
